Manager

Starting off as a Playworker in 2006 I have now worked at the Newcroft Club for many years, and the ingenuity, creativity, and sheer exuberance children display when fully engaged in their own child-led play continues to inspire and fascinate me.

Sadie

Manager

Alongside working at The Newcroft Club on and off for 20 years, I have spent 9 years running a play school for refugee children in Bulgaria. I am passionate about the importance of play! I’m particularly interested in the way that play supports children’s personal, social, and emotional development. I am a qualified primary school teacher with QTS but have always been a Playworker at heart!

Marie

I am a mother of four children, and now that my youngest has reached school age, I am delighted to be able to use my prior experience in PARS playwork once again. I enjoy watching over children while they play freely, and I especially value the imagination and creativity that they bring to their play.

Lizzie

Playworker

I loved attending both the Afterschool Club and Holiday Club whilst a student at Newnham Croft. Now I have returned to work part-time while studying for my A-Levels. I enjoy getting involved with all the play action outside, as well as helping with arts and crafts and various games indoors.

Ruby

Playworker

I attended the Newcroft Club as a child and have so many fond memories from my time there. Now that I’ve returned from university, I’m excited to be working as a playworker in the after-school club while exploring future study opportunities. With a passion for arts and crafts, sports, and outdoor activities, I can’t wait to help the children explore their creativity, build their confidence, and have fun and play.

Billy

Playworker

Playing outdoors with a sense of freedom, combined with structured play, made my afternoons at The Newcroft Club the highlight of my days as a pupil at Newnham Croft Primary. I am delighted to now work part-time at The Newcroft Club while studying at Long Road Sixth Form College because I can contribute to children receiving a similar positive experience. I love being a play worker because I enjoy helping children develop their creativity in many practical ways that aren’t restricted by the classroom environment.

Tom

Bank Playworker

Having taught English as a Foreign Language for many years, and as a speaker of Spanish, French and Italian, I appreciate the diversity of nationalities at the club and the many languages spoken by the children in addition to English. I also enjoy music (I play guitar and sing in a choir) and I hope to inspire children to explore this aspect of their creativity.
